I have a ‘biology fan fiction’ (it doesn’t have an official name yet) that I’ve been trying to work on for a good year with no progress… the characters and world wasn’t ‘alive enough’ to get me to keep writing it.
Until now! All those pub med articles I’ve annotated are coming into good use! Also we have link click influence! Because a toooon of the stories I’m into right now have time travel, I decided to put some time travel into the biology fic and lo and behold- everything started coming together.
As it is right now, it’s about a caspase-3 activated to regulate the cell cycle, feeling that they’re one of the lucky ones to be activated for this job. (This next part isn’t as scientificly accurate but the idea is to promote an interest for biology so it’s okay) The processes for apoptosis begin, and this caspase (their name is Tezra/Trini. I haven’t decided yet) realizes they’ve never been truly satisfied with any of this. Apoptosis might offer the ‘ultimate satisfaction’ of completing your purpose, but after apoptosis, everything ends, so Tezra wants to be sure that it will be enough. And they aren’t. This unsurity leads to necrosis happening instead of apoptosis, and Trezra time travels over and over again to find the best ending they can get.
A work in progress but much better than what I had before.
