So when I was little my biology special interest was in genetics and... hear me out.

Not the reproductive system, but basic fetal development. (I SWEAR I WAS READING A CHILDREN'S BOOK AND THE IDEA OF FETUSES GROWING FEATURES LIKE EYES AND STUFF AND HEARING HEARTBEATS WAS COOL TO ME)

But anyways, I didn't know anything about sexual things, still don't to be honest, but I knew the basic 'oh sperm and egg go together and the genetics mix and there's crossing over between chromosomes in prophase one and each sex cell has one pair of alleles which is why everyone has two sets because two sex cells make the first cell' (except I didn't know they were called sex cells).

BUT I KNEW THE BASIC BIOLOGY STUFF AND WOULD START INFODUMPING ABOUT SEX CELLS AT AGE 9

TO the point where my first instinct when someone says that 'oh there's a lot of people with march birthdays' is to be like... 'oh okay so nine months before.... June/July is when their first cells appeared'

I even had the 'theory' that kissing was how the sex cells transferred bodies and such.

... LITTERALLY HOW DID NO ONE STOP ME BEFORE THAT WAS THE WORST HYPERFIXATION FOR A NINE-YEAR-OLD TO HAVE

Anyyywayyysss.... this did not help my autistic endeavor of making friends I infodumped all throughout elementary and middle school and in hindsight...

everyone else knew about the sexual context.

And I did not.

... okay maybe this is why I didn't have many/any friends in elementary school.

.... anyways I would like to humbly request that when writers/authors make their 'neurodivergent coded super smart characters', that they make some biology-focused ones. Because there's not much practical application of knowing things about genetics and mitochondria and not knowing anything about first aid. And also you can be bad at math. Also also I would've latched onto that character as a kid like nothing else. I HAD ONLY THE ENGINEERING AND PHYSICS/TECH FOCUSED ONES TO GRAVITATE TOOOOO AND I COULDN'T DO MATHHHHHHH

Sometimes I feel like your brain being different when your small means that you'll think that adults know some secret method to be competent, and somewhere along the line, you'll learn it to, and you won't recognize yourself.

It's scary, until you realize you're not changing much. You still like the toys you did when you were five, read fiction books, watch shows, read fanfiction, and fill your head with characters. You're still creative and didn't suddenly become a boring tax, math, paperwork sort of adult... and that's a detriment.

No one told you the secret adult thing you were supposed to realize. Everyone is super responsible, and they're your age. Able to apply to colleges and do paperwork and leave the house on their own and get a cup of coffee from a coffeeshop without stumbling over their words and needing the next person in line to help them swipe a credit card. And it takes you a while longer after that to realize that you just... fundamentally understand things differently.

So even with your hobbies, your personal hyperfixations, there's not some secret mcguffin you have to find that will make everything work out like it does for everyone else.

No, they're... born with that. You're still something childish...

... well, perhaps we can make the best of it, you and me both.

I tried changing the name of the website because lobotomy has... some bad connotations and it was just supposed to be a silly temporary discord username.

Couldn't change the entire url and buying a domain means upgrading at that's... expensive. If this site ever does something beyond being a social media placeholder /pos then I'll see what I can do.
