Cheng Xiaoshi with an 'aloof, mastermind, unamused' expression and vibe the entire video is just SUCH an interesting concept. Since he's the most ignorant one in the show, along with being the silliest... it makes the depictions of him being serious (Like at the end of season one) all the more impactful.

(Also the idea of Cheng XIaoshi being this omnipotent time-god is something I want to write in a fanfic eventually... this short film captured it so perfectly aklsdjf)

When you first watch Link Click, you never expect that the one who can't let go is Lu Guang. Cheng Xiaoshi takes the whole first season too, but he does. And the way they parallel each other drives me crazy I love them so much.

(The yingdu arc is like if you combined the dramatics of season 2 with the sillies of the chibi series with the shipping of the manhwa).

But the idea of Cheng Xiaoshi being aroace and just being flirty as ~his personality~ (read: part of his mask)

Along with Lu Guang being gay. Just ridiculously gay.

So they're in a 'really sappy, constantly teasing each other, qpr coded, label-less' relationship...

... and yeah it makes more sense in my head because literally their queerness is practically cannon. (Including Cheng XIaoshi being aroace... I have evidence -> when Cheng XIaoshi dived and lived as other people with crushes he describes their feelings as if they're foreign concepts to him because they areeee.)

REALLY QUICK

The hand holding in the yingdu arc! It happens a lot! It might also be a reference/parallel to the earthquake arc in season one... where Cheng Xiaoshi as Chen Xiao resolved to save his mother when he felt that her hands were warm and alive.
